SRC imposes 1.5 billion dram fine on company for holding unlicensed poker tournaments

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today it has revealed a long string of cases of holding unlicensed poker tournaments by Senator Sport LLC.

YEREVAN, April 10. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today it has revealed a long string of cases of holding unlicensed poker tournaments by Senator Sport LLC.
It said a search of the company revealed that from November 30 to December 9, 2018, the company organized poker tournaments "Armenia Snowfest" at Golden Palace hotel. Based on the data obtained, the SRC has referred the case to its Legal Department for an investigation.
The investigation revealed that the tournaments were held without a relevant license. The Legal Department imposed as a result a 1.5 billion dram fine on the company (the equivalent of $3 million).
The SRC said the amount of damage to be restored is 150 million drams. -0-
