Armenia’s State Revenue Committee said today that the Air Armenia airline (now in the process of bankruptcy) owes the government about 1.5 billion drams in unpaid state duties.

YEREVAN, March 15. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee said today that the Air Armenia airline (now in the process of bankruptcy) owes the government about 1.5 billion drams in unpaid state duties.

According to the State Revenue Committee, the  appropriation of state duties in especially large amount was disclosed by its department in charge of revealing offenses and the implementation of administrative proceedings.

According to the head of the department Samvel Minasyan, during the investigation it was found out that Air Armenia in 2014-2016 collected the payments for departure, subject to transfer to the state budget, but in violation of the requirements, did not transfer this amount to the state budget having appropriated it. The amount of damage caused to the state amounted to about 684 million drams and together with accrued penalties – the sum is 1 billion 486 million drams.

A criminal case was initiated. Earlier it was reported that  the Air Armenia  was in the process of bankruptcy, according to a  court decision  in 2015 based on a lawsuit of HSBC Bank Armenia. Debt of the airline to HSBC Bank of Armenia was 2 million 150 thousand euros. --0--
