YEREVAN, October 20. /ARKA/. The Rosgosstrakh-Armenia insurance company plans to become a leader on Armenia’s insurance market in 2-3 years, Danil Khachaturov, President of the Rosgosstrakh Group, told a press conference on the opening of the company in Yerevan.
“Success means being the first on the market for us. I think two or three years will be enough for us to reach this goal,” he said.
Khachaturov pointed out that the accomplishment of the task depends on the company’s policy and GDP growth rates in Armenia. He stressed that the company “is seeking leadership on Armenia’s insurance market, contribution to the development of this field, inculcation of insurance culture and development of everything related to financial institutes and risks.”
Speaking of the company’s plans in Armenia, Khachaturov reported that the company plans life and pension insurance throughout Armenia.
Armenia’s insurance market is extremely small now, but GDP growth rates are most serious – among the highest in the world, Khachaturov said. “So we hope that it will become influential in five years,” he said.
Gagik Grigoryan, Executive Director of the Rosgosstrakh-Armenia Company, said that Armenia’s insurance market is now estimated at $20mln, with the share of aviation insurance being $5-$6mln.
“Only 0.4% of risks are insured in Armenia now, so we have a lot of work here,” he said.
Grigoryan reported that the Rosgosstrakh-Armenia Company has an authorized capital of $2mln, but plans to bring it up to $5mln during next year.
The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) registered the Rosgosstrakh-Armenia CJSC on May 20, 2008. The company was founded by Rosgosstrakh, Russia’s largest insurance group. –0--
