Armenian State Revenue Committee Chooses 24 Companies for Tax Scrutiny

The Armenian government has approved today the list of companies in which the State Revenue Committee will have its permanent representatives.
YEREVAN, June 24, /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today the list of companies in which the State Revenue Committee will have its permanent representatives.

Arthur Afrikian, a first deputy head of State Revenue Committee, said during a government session held in Gavar, the administrative center of Gegharkunik province that tax representatives will be dispatched to 24 companies

Rubik Kocharian, a deputy chief of the State Revenue Committee, said the criteria used to select the companies envisage that they should have a 4 billion Dram worth sales during the reporting period and over 500 million Dram worth exports every three months.

He said these criteria were used to select a total of 120 companies of which the State Revenue Committee chose 24. In his words, tax representatives will be dealing with current tax control, fixing particularly, sales amount.

He said the move is part of the government’s long-running efforts to improve tax collection and crack down on shadow economy. The government said the list is subject to change. It includes, particularly, Pharmatech, Oriflame Cosmetics, Slav Group, Alex Grig, Sarkis Karolina, Grand Tobacco, Cigaronne, International Masis Tabak and Masis Tobacco companies.
