Haypost pledges 18 billion drams of investment in modernizing the company

Armenia’s national postal operator Haypost CJSC has pledged to invest more than 18 billion Drams in upgrading its services in the next ten years.
YEREVAN, September 17, /ARKA/. Armenia’s national postal operator Haypost CJSC has pledged to invest more than 18 billion Drams in upgrading its services in the next ten years. Speaking to ARKA, Haypost Trust Management CEO, Juan Pablo Gechidjian, said ten billion Drams will be invested in the next five years to modernise the company.
‘We have worked out a long-term development program and we are determined to implement it,’ he said. He then specified that investments will be made to renovate post offices across the country, to expand the scale of services, including also banking services and introduction of modern technologies.
He said the company’s major task is to upgrade its regional infrastructure. Postal offices in Kapan, Vanadzor, Ijevan, Dilijan and Gyumri will be renovated this year.
Haypost CJSC is the official national postal operator of Armenia providing postal, payment and retail services. Haypost currently operates through 900 of its postal offices across Armenia, from urban to the most remote rural regions.
On November 30, 2006, the Dutch Haypost Trust Management B.V. was given the responsibility to operate Haypost. The purpose of the Trust Management is to make Haypost increasingly commercial, transparent, efficient and accountable for its customers in Armenia and abroad.-0-
