YEREVAN, November 14. /ARKA/. Armenia’s finance minister Vache Gabrileian said today the electronic system of procurements will be officially launched in 2012. He said in the first stage some 60 government agencies will join it.

According to him, this system was patterned from the European model, but includes also features of the Armenian market. According to him, it allows to conduct ‘unbiased’ public procurements, which constitute 85% of all procurements in the country.

"This means that the document circulation will significantly reduce. As a result we are going to have a system that completely meets all the rules of competition and reduces the risks of corruption", he said.

He said a number of pilot applications have been accepted and they will be summarized in December.

"In December we will summarize the available experiences and the government will pass a document on the regulation of electronic procurement. In addition, the government has already decided on the promotion of companies which will submit more than five bona fide applications within three years –they will be saved from submission of some company-related documents," Gabrielian said. According to him, in 2010 government procurements amounted to 450 billion drams. -0-
