Regional office of American national instruments company starts its operations in Armenia

Regional office of American National Instruments (NI) company started its operations in Armenia.

YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. Regional office of American National Instruments (NI) company started its operations in Armenia.

The official start of the operation was given by the signing of the Memorandum about mutual understanding between the Enterprise Incubator Fund and NI company in Yerevan on September 11 2007, Armenian Minister of Trade and Economic Development, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Enterprise Incubator Fund Nerses Yeritsian told journalists

“Establishment of the regional center in Armenia is based on the company’s policy to expand in CIS region and is aimed at providing all the range of the services within CIS markets,” he said.

Yeritsian expressed hope that NI will manage to reveal all the opportunities for development in the business sphere in Armenia and in the region through cooperation and dialogue with Armenian

According to the Minister, the Center will be supporting the companies that use and apply engineering solutions produced and implemented by NI all over the world.
In the second stage studies are to be conducted to improve the links between educational organizations and research institutes, he said adding that misbalance between the high level of theoretical engineering basis and poor state of existing research and test laboratories remains one of the urgent problems in

In his turn, NI’s Vice-President on sales in Asia Victor Meyers pointed out that Armenia has been selected as location for the regional center due to the country’s solid traditions in scientific technologies and availability of numerous higher education programs on scientific engineering.

The office of NI in Yerevan will be offering wide range of services to its clients – from technical assistance to creation of engineering prototypes and development of concepts for application programs, he said.
According to the Regional Director of NI on South Asia, CIS and Middle East Aram Salatian, currently Yerevan office has five employees who have been on training courses in USA, Russia and India.

“Today they execute the orders received from CIS countries, and we plan to extend the staff in near future as we are confident that we will not be short of orders,” he said.
