Armenia had 521,648 gas subscribers on February 1, 2008, the ArmRosGasProm press service reports. The number of gas consumers in the country increased by 5,412 in January 2008.
YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Armenia had 521,648 gas subscribers on February 1, 2008, the ArmRosGasProm press service reports.
The number of gas consumers in the country increased by 5,412 in January 2008. The ArmRosGasProm has gas consumers in 472 population centers, 428 centers being in rural areas (128,244 clients or 45.5%) and the remaining 44 in cities (388,028 clients or 91.6%).
516,272 consumers are connected to the gas supply system (266,829 consumers live in blocks of flats and 249,443 live in houses).
The ArmRosGasProm had 654,142 potential customers in the reporting period. Thus, the company had 66,267 new potential customers (10.1% increase) and 77,479 new (17.6% increase) consumers in 2007.
Monopolist in Armenia’s gas supply market, the ArmRosgasprom CJSC was established in 1997. The company’s capital totals $580mln. Its shareholders are the Gasprom OJCS (57.59% of shares), the RA Ministry of Energy (34.7%) and the Itera Oil and Gas Company (7.71%). Z. Sh. –0--
