About 691.9 thousand tourists visited Armenia in January-May 2025

YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. In the first 5 months of 2025, the number of tourist visits to Armenia approached 691.9 thousand against 765.4 thousand in January-May 2024. These data were provided by the Tourism Committee on its Facebook page.

It is indicated that most tourists arrived in Armenia from Russia (37%), Georgia (15%) and Iran (8%).

According to the Committee, 181 thousand 436 tourists visited Armenia in May of this year against 167 thousand 49 people in May last year, recording an increase of 8.6%. Thus, May 2025 became the first month since January 2024 during which an increase in tourist visits was recorded.

It was previously reported that the number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia decreased by 4.7% to 2 million 208 thousand during 2024. According to the analysis of the RA Ministry of Economy, the decrease in tourist flows was primarily due to a decrease in the number of visitors from the Russian Federation, who make up the largest share (42.5% of the total number of all entries into the country versus 49.1% in 2023).
