YEREVAN, February 25. /ARKA/. The potential for bilateral trade between Armenia and Azerbaijan is estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars, stated Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
Noting that there are currently no significant competitive advantages, he said that trade will nevertheless develop.
"But realizing these opportunities will take time," Papoyan added.
In early February, Babken Tunyan, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs, did not rule out the possibility that Armenia might begin exporting goods to Azerbaijan in one or two months. He said the possibility of exporting foil and some food products is being discussed. Papoyan later stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan had exchanged lists of goods and were awaiting the reaction of the business community.
