Armenia's Ministry of Social Affairs presents two new programs in the field of employment for vulnerable families

YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. Two new employment programs designed for vulnerable families are being implemented in Armenia. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan told t a press conference on Tuesday that the employment strategy involves unemployed youth, women aged 30 to 40, able-bodied citizens in the regions of the country and able-bodied citizens who are eligible to the new system of insecurity.

"Employment programs are designed specifically for them -to assist people in integrating into the labor market and meeting their own needs," Sargsyan noted.

He said that the first program includes a training model with three components: training, gaining experience and partial compensation of wages. The deputy minister added that all these new programs and related processes are carried out through a digital system e-work.
"In terms of training, the government undertakes short-term training for up to 5 months, compensating the employer for training costs up to 250,000 drams. After that, the employer is obliged to conclude an employment contract with the beneficiary for at least 6 months. Within 6 months, the state compensates the employer for tax liabilities in the amount of up to 50,000 drams," Sargsyan said.

According to him, a six-month employment contract is concluded for internship. The state compensates the employer for wages and taxes for 3 months (165,000 drams), and during the next 3 months, expenses are compensated up to 50,000 drams.

"As for salary compensation, if the employer concludes an employment contract with the beneficiary for a period of 6 to 11 months, then in this case the state will compensate the employer for taxes for 6 months (each month - up to 50,000 drams). If the period is more than 12 months, then the compensation will be 75,000 drams," the deputy minister said.

He noted that the first stage will involve 400 people, adding that the programs are being implemented in parallel in the Kotayk and Syunik regions.

"The second program offers paid public work (maintenance and repair of infrastructure, social and community services, care and maintenance, culture and tourism, landscaping and sanitation). In particular, the structure that wants to attract employees under this program presents the program in the digital space - from 3 to 12 months," Sargsyan noted.

He also reported that the state compensates daily (3.5 thousand drams per day), because it simultaneously provides material assistance to persons receiving benefits. At the first stage, it is planned to implement this program for 350 people.-0-
