Some 1,509 cases of violence against women have been reported in Armenia over the first ten months of this year, Arthur Vardanyan, deputy chief of the 3rd division of the Armenian police's criminal investigation department, said Monday at a news conference. This is 419 cases (21.73%) less than in the same period a year before. "In particular, 305 cases of violence against women took place in families against 460 in the previous year," Vardanyan said.
