YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that he and his family members- the wife and three daughters- have recovered from coronavirus.
Pashinyan and his family tested positive for the novel coronavirus on June 1, as the country saw a rise in infection case
Pashinyan showed no "visible symptoms" of the virus and was working from home. He and his wife, Anna Hakobyan, have four children. Their son is having compulsory military service now.
"Dear fellow citizens. We have just received the results of repeated tests for coronavirus of our family members. The answer is negative for all of us. Negative answers were also received yesterday," Pashinyan wrote in a Facebook post.
He noted that the timing and circumstances of their infection should be reconsidered. "However, at the moment it is important that we are all healthy and have immunity. Thank you for all the good wishes addressed to us during this time," the prime minister wrote, adding that he was returning to full work.
On Sunday, Armenia registered 766 new COVID-19 cases, the latest record in daily increase since 4 June. On Friday, PM Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia was ‘going through hell’.
