Armenia and Turkmenistan will resume direct flights between their capital cities, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said today at a joint press conference with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov in Ashgabat.

YEREVAN, April 8. / ARKA /. Armenia and Turkmenistan will resume direct flights between their capital cities, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said today at a joint press conference with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov in Ashgabat.

Armenian president arrived in Ashgabat on April 7 evening for a three-day visit. Today the Chief Civil Aviation Department of Armenia and the National Aviation Service of Turkmenistan signed a memorandum of understanding.

President Sargsyan highlighted this memorandum during the news conference, which is part of Armenia’s ‘open skies’ policy. He said the travel by air from one capital city to another will take two hours.


He said this would increase the flow of tourists in both directions and promote business ties between the two countries. -0-
