YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. Armenia may receive a 1.5 billion euro grant from the European Union provided that its next parliamentary elections scheduled for May 2012 are fair, just and democratic, an Armenian pro-opposition daily Haykakan Zhamank (Armenian Time) says in its today’s issue.
Citing its own sources the newspaper says Yerevan-based EU ambassadors sent a message to the Armenian authorities saying if the polls are estimated as fair and democratic by European polls watchers until September of this year Armenia would receive a one-time assistance of 100 million euros and before the end of the year the EU will organize a conference on Armenia to decide on providing the grant.-0-
