Armenia posts 20.2% decline in cargo transportation among CIS countries

Cargo transportation in Armenia (pipelines excluded) in the first two months of 2014 slashed by 20.2 % if compared with the same period in 2013, the largest drop among former Soviet republics making the CIS, according to CIS Statistical Committee.

YEREVAN, April 7. / ARKA /. Cargo transportation in Armenia (pipelines excluded) in the first two months of 2014 slashed by 20.2 % if compared with the same period in 2013, the largest drop among former Soviet republics making the CIS, according to CIS Statistical Committee.
The average number for the CIS countries in January-February (pipelines excluded) this year was a 2.4 % growth year-on-year, it said.
The highest growth of 22.2 percent was reported by Moldova. Turkmenistan reported a 7.8% increase (pipelines included), Uzbekistan (including cargo transportation by pipelines) reported a 4.4% growth, Kazakhstan - 3 6%, Tajikistan - 3.2%, Russia - 2.8%, Kyrgyzstan - 2.7 and Ukraine - 1.3% growth. Belarus and Azerbaijan reported a decline of 8.9% and 1.5% respectively. -0-
