Armenia’s foreign trade in April this year dropped by 0.2% year-on-year to $ 47.7 million or 175.4 billion drams, the National Statistical Service reported.

YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in April this year dropped by 0.2% year-on-year to $ 47.7 million or 175.4 billion drams, the National Statistical Service reported.
According to its preliminary numbers, the drop in April compared with March, was 14.8%. Exports in April totalled $91.9 million (36 billion drams), a decrease of 17.1% over the same period in 2011, and imports increased by 5.4% to $355.8 million (or 39.4 billion drams). This resulted in a negative trade balance of $263.9 million or 103.4 billion drams.
In April exports dropped by 43.4% from March while imports fell only by 2%. The average exchange rate of one USD in April was 392.02 drams. -0-
