Armenia's foreign trade in January-May surges by 86.9% year-on-year to over $7.3 bln
YEREVAN, June 26. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade in the first 5 months of 2023 soared by 86.9% year-on-year to over $7.3 billion, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.
According to it, in May 2023 the foreign trade was up 2.3% from the previous month, while compared to May 2022 it was up 50.5%. In Armenian drams, the foreign trade in January-May 2023 amounted to over 2.8 trillion drams.
Armenian exports in the first five months of 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, were up 93.3%, amounting to about $2.7 billion. In May 2023 compared to May last year, a 47.6% increase was recorded in exports. In dram equivalent, exports amounted to over 1 trillion drams.
Armenian imports during the reporting period amounted to over $4.6 billion, registering an increase of 83.3% compared to January-May 2022.
In May this year, imports rose by 52.1% from May 2022. In dram equivalent, imports in the first five months of 2023 totaled over 1.8 trillion drams. ($1 - 387.10 drams) -0-
