Armenia's industrial output rises by 15.7% in first seven months of 2024

YEREVAN, September 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's industrial production for January to July 2024 reached 1.64 trillion drams (in current prices), marking a 15.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

In July alone, the industrial output totaled 228.3 billion drams, showing a 2.2% rise compared to July 2023 and a 2% increase compared to June 2024.

The mining and quarrying sector produced 265.7 billion drams worth of output, reflecting an 8.6% decline year-on-year. Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector saw a 23.6% increase, producing 1.15 trillion drams in the first seven months.

The energy supply, gas, steam, and air conditioning sectors reported an output of 198.5 billion drams, up by 13%, while the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation sectors produced 17.9 billion drams, growing by 5.6%.

Manufacturing accounted for the largest share of industrial output at 70.5%, followed by mining and quarrying at 16.3%, energy-related industries at 12.1%, and water and waste management at 1.1%.
