YEREVAN, September 16. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported on the active growth in the export of small cattle. “Continuing the topic of good economic news amid economic difficulties, we note that in January-July 2020, the export of sheep and goats from Armenia increased by 256%, compared with the same period a year before. About 41,000 heads of small ruminants were exported, at a total amount of 3.4 million dollars,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

In his words, this growth is a direct result of a number of steps taken by the government. He explained that the export of small ruminants benefits many businesses.

“I continue to assert that this is one of the promising segments of our economy, which can also become a very effective tool for overcoming poverty, if, of course, farmers in our villages show the will to unite efforts, create rural cooperatives and use the opportunities provided by the government,” the premier wrote on his Facebook page.

Pashinyan added that the authorities will do their utmost to make this a reality. -0-
