Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed the Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan to look into what problems sales of agricultural products may face this year and study also how the government can support processing enterprises.

YEREVAN, April 4. / ARKA /. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed the Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan to look into what problems sales of agricultural products may face this year and study also how the government can support processing enterprises.
"When the procurement season begins, we may again face a problem when the canneries have not enough equities and assets to seek loans for procurement. Without the active participation of the government we are going to have serious problem in this area," he said at a cabinet session.
He said also many Russian regions are interested in Armenian agricultural products, and cooperation with them may help Armenian canneries to export their goods to Russia.
The Prime Minister said ministries of agriculture and economy should meet with Central Bank officials and private sector representatives to discuss ways to avoid these problems.
"This must be done as soon as possible, as we are getting information from different communities that they have problems with sale of agricultural products produced in 2012, “ Sargsyan said.
According to Armenian National Statistical Service, agricultural output last year amounted to 840.4 billion drams, a 9.5% increase form the previous year. -0-
