Armenian political strategist warns about economic collapse
YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. The ongoing trends in the Armenian economy can lead to a collapse, political strategist Karen Kocharyan said at a press conference on Monday.

“The problem is not only in the absence of money from abroad, but that domestic funds are frozen, there is no money circulation. People try not to spend money, being in a state of expectation, which can lead to economic collapse in the long run”, - he said.

Kocharyan believes that the problem is not only the lack of investment, but that business and money love stability. "When there is no stability, the money circulation ceases on its own," he said.

In this context, the political strategist drew attention to the constitutional referendum, noting that problems in the economy are more important than amendments to the Constitution.

"The citizen of Armenia is not interested in a referendum, which is essentially about removing seven judges of the Constitutional Court from their posts and appointing others, but about where we are moving to," he said.

The constitutional referendum is scheduled for April 5.

According to preliminary statistical data, in absolute terms Armenia’s 2019 GDP will amount to 6 trillion 551 billion 849 million drams (an increase of 7.6%). The largest share was contrbuted by the manufacturing industry (793.4 billion drams), agriculture (761.1 billion drams), wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair (745.1 billion drams). ($1 - 479.82 drams).-- 0--
