Armenian railway is growing rapidly, after long years of standstill and depression, general director of the South Caucasus Railway cjsc Victor Rebets said at the festivities held in Giumry on Railroader’s Day Sunday.

YEREVAN, August 5. /ARKA/. Armenian railway is growing rapidly, after long years of standstill and depression, general director of the South Caucasus Railway cjsc Victor Rebets said at the festivities held in Giumry on Railroader’s Day Sunday.
Today rail traffic volumes are growing, so does the number of passengers, Rebets said.
The company is increasing the comfort and service levels and train speeds. A large-scale infrastructure modernization program is currently under way at the railroad, the general director said.
Rebets said investments totaled about 90 billion drams in 2008-2012, over 50 billion of it was spent on modernization of infrastructures.–0--
