YEREVAN, May 29, /ARKA/. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reiterated today that Armenia's economic expansion in 2022 amounted top 12.6%, which he said was an 'unprecedentedly' growth over the last 15 years.

Speaking at a meeting of parliamentary committees, convened to discuss the government's 2022 budget performance, Pashinyan said tax revenues in 2022 amounted to 1 trillion, 926 billion drams, by 82 billion drams or 4 percent more than originally planned for that year.

According to Pashinyan, the growth was contributed by the reduction of the shadow sector and a set of reforms enforced by the government.

"In April 2023, tax authorities collected 296.8 billion drams, which is a record indicator in the history of Armenia as that much of taxes has never been collected in one month. For example, in April 2022 we collected 231.3 billion drams, and in April 2018 – some 126 billion drams. In other words, compared to April 2018, tax revenues colecte din one month have more than doubled," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Referring to the tax revenues collected in the 4 months of this year, Pashinyan said that more money was collected in that time span than in each of the years between 2000-2010.

Armenian governments' growth projection for 2023 is 7%, while the inflation is set at 4% (±1.5%). ($1 – 386.52 drams. --0-
