YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. The Armenian Cadastre Committee will create 'passports' for about 10,000 geographical names and update the data in 2025, the head of the Committee Suren Tovmasyan said.

At a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, he said that in 2024, work had been launched to introduce a new multifunctional National Geoportal that meets international standards.

"Last year, a system of automatic formation of name passport for geographical objects was introduced in the National Geoportal. Currently, the National Geoportal reflects data provided by a number of state bodies," he said.

Tovmasyan also said that cadastral maps of 500 settlements have been adjusted, 156 of which in 2024. He added that the work is to be completed in March 2026.

According to him, about 20,000 property units were identified in 2024 and entered into cadastral maps as necessary. In 2025, it is planned to identify another 5,000 properties.

The Prime Minister said that it is necessary to create a platform, upload the data and establish principles for its management. It was emphasized that this data can also be useful to improve the investment environment. In this context, the need to commercialize some of the platform's data was highlighted.

“It is obvious that in today's world, the most sought-after commodity is data,” Pashinyan said. -0-
