Domestic trade turnover in Armenia in Jan.-Feb. up 24.3% yoy to 749.1 billion drams

YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. Domestic trade turnover in Armenia in January-February 2024 totaled about 749.1 billion drams (in current prices), up 24.1% compared to the same period of 2023, the National Statistical Committee reported.
In February 2024 alone it grew by 408.3 billion, an increase of 28.3% compared to February 2023 and 21% rise compared to January of the same year.
Wholesale trade turnover amounted to 477.6 billion drams (63.7% of the total), up 37.8% year-on-year; retail trade turnover grew by 7.2% to 243.2 billion (32.5% of the total). Sales of vehicles raised 28.3 billion drams, a decline of 7.5%.
Of retail trade, stores accounted for 81.7% of the total or 198.6 billion drams (8.8% growth), consumer goods markets upped by almost 4% to 10 billion drams, markets of agricultural products were up 4.2% to 2 billion drams, kiosks trade raised 3.7 billion drams, 7.1% growth, and other trade outlets accounted for 28.7 billion drams (2.3% decline).
