Economic activity in Armenia projected to be bolstered by industrial growth in third quarter through end of year - EDB
YEREVAN, November 3. /ARKA/. In the third quarter, Armenia's industrial sector experienced a resurgence, growing by 5.1%, which is expected to enhance economic activity for the rest of the year, as noted in the Eurasian Development Bank's weekly macroeconomic review.
Economic activity in Armenia saw a year-on-year increase of 7.6% during the period from January to September 2025.
"The primary contributors to this growth were the services sector, which grew by 9.9%, and construction, which surged by 20.7%. However, the industrial sector faced a decline of 5.7% due to the waning effects of increased trade and precious metal processing observed in early 2024. This downturn also contributed to a significant drop in exports by 46.8% and imports by 33.3% over the nine-month timeframe," the EDB indicates.
According to Armstat, the total industrial output for the first nine months reached 2 trillion drams, reflecting a 5.7% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. ($1 = 382.65 drams).-0-
