EDB expects high growth rates in Armenia’s economy to continue in 2025

YEREVAN, February 24. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects Armenia's economic growth to remain high, maintaining its forecast of a 5.5% GDP growth.
"Armenia's GDP grew by 5.9% in 2024. The largest contributions to GDP growth came from the services sector — including trade, real estate transactions, and financial activities — as well as construction (which increased by 16.8%, 19.0%, 18.1%, and 13.5%, respectively). Household consumer spending and investment were the main demand-side drivers (growth of 6.6% and 11.1%, respectively), while net exports had a positive impact — exports of goods and services rose by 35.6%, while imports increased by 31.4%," the EDB's weekly macro review states.
Figures and forecasts for Armenia's economy
The 2025 state budget projects economic growth in Armenia at 5.1%. According to the Central Bank, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be between 7.1% and 4.8% by the end of 2025, between 4.7% and 7% in 2026, and between 5% and 6.2% in 2027.
The World Bank expects a 5% growth, the IMF predicts 4.9%, the EBRD forecasts 4.8%, and the ADB projects 6%. According to Fitch Ratings' forecast, Armenia’s economy will grow by 4.9% in 2025, while the UN expects growth of 5.2% in 2025 and 4.7% in 2026.
