YEREVAN, April 29. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili highlighted the critical need for a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan during their meeting on Tuesday in Yerevan, underscoring the potential for long-term peace in the region, Pashinyan’s press service reported.

During his first official visit to Armenia, President Kavelashvili expressed his commitment to enhancing the South Caucasus as a robust region. He welcomed the progress made in drafting the peace agreement and shared his optimism that it would soon be finalized, paving the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.

Regarding bilateral ties, Pashinyan affirmed that Armenia's relationship with Georgia has now evolved into a strategic partnership, signifying a deeper alliance between the two nations.

"I see this move as a clear indication of our long-term goals. I've always maintained that Georgia and Armenia share common interests, and it's essential that our relationship is grounded in these shared objectives," emphasized Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister noted that these interests align well with the broader vision for the South Caucasus's sustainable development.

During their discussion, the parties addressed several pressing matters on the agenda regarding Armenian-Georgian collaboration, including joint initiatives in the areas of economy, tourism, infrastructure, and education, among others.-0-
