YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. “Electric Networks of Armenia” is planning to file an application with the Public Services Regulatory Commission in early May to increase the energy tariff by 6 drams, Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) newspaper reports referring to its sources.
This means, the electricity tariff for consumers will be 48 drams per kilowatt-hour in daytime and 38 drams per kilowatt-hour at nighttime, the newspaper says.
At the same time, according to the newspaper, the authorities will inform that Russia has lowered the gas price for Armenia from $189 to $167 per 1,000 cubic meters, which will not have any effect on consumers though.
The gas tariffs will be kept unchanged – 156 drams per cubic meter for the population and $270 per 1,000 cubic meters for major consumers.
ARKA Agency is currently trying to get “Electric Networks of Armenia” to comment on the matter. –0—
