Electricity generation in Armenia increased by 3.6% to almost 4 billion kWh in January-May

In January-May 2025, Armenia generated 3,992.9 million kWh of electricity, which is 3.6% more than in January-May 2024. This is evidenced by data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

YEREVAN, July 9. /ARKA/. In January-May 2025, Armenia generated 3,992.9 million kWh of electricity, which is 3.6% more than in January-May 2024. This is evidenced by data published by the National Statistical Committee.
The largest share of generated electricity - 30.9% - was contributed by the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant- 1,233.4 million kWh, a decline of 11.7%. The thermal power plants (output - 1,111.6 million kWh, a decline of 10.4%) account for 27.8% of the total, and the share of hydroelectric power plants (output volume - 1,080.6 million kWh, an increase of 21.6%) is 27.1%.
Solar power plants (share - 14.2%) produced 566.9 million kWh of electricity in 5 months (an increase of 74.1%), and wind power plants (share - 0.02%) is 0.4 million kWh (a decline of 47.7%).
Since 2023, the volumes of electricity production also include the volumes of electricity produced by autonomous energy producers. -0-
