Electricity generation in Armenia rose by 5.6% to 5.6 billion kWh over 7 months

From January to July 2025, Armenia produced 5,557.6 million kWh of electricity, marking a 5.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024б according to the National Statistical Committee.

YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. From January to July 2025, Armenia produced 5,557.6 million kWh of electricity, marking a 5.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024б according to the National Statistical Committee.

The largest portion of the generated electricity, accounting for 30.9%, is attributed to thermal power plants, which generated 1,715.3 million kWh, reflecting a decrease of 17.1%.

Hydroelectric power plants contributed 27.2% of the total generation with a volume of 1,511.5 million kWh, showing a growth of 20.8%.

The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant accounted for 25.2% of the generation, producing 1,403.2 million kWh, which is an increase of 0.4%.

Solar power plants, which represent 16.7% of the total, generated 927.2 million kWh in the first half of the year, experiencing a significant growth of 70.3%.

In contrast, wind power plants, which hold a share of 0.02%, produced only 0.4 million kWh, reflecting a decline of 43.2%.

Since 2023, the electricity output from autonomous energy producers has also been incorporated into the overall electricity production figures.-0-
