Financing of the staff of the Armenian Ombudsman’s office from the 2016 budget will amount to AMD 256 million, Tigran Areyan, head of the ombudsman staff, said Thursday during budget discussions in the National Assembly’s committees.

YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. Financing of the staff of the Armenian Ombudsman’s office from the 2016 budget will amount to AMD 256 million, Tigran Areyan, head of the ombudsman staff, said Thursday during budget discussions in the National Assembly’s committees.
In his words, the next year’s financing will not differ from that of this year – it will be increase slightly to cover the increase of salaries and electricity prices.
He said the ombudsman office is going to provide juridical support to 5,000 people in 2016.
The draft 2016 budget, approved by the Armenian government on October 1, projects a 2.2% GDP growth, a 4% GDP deflator index, 12-month inflation at 4% (± 1.5%) and a budget deficit of 3.5% of GDP. The budget calls also for 1.373 trillion drams in revenues and 1.183 trillion drams in spending. The projected deficit is 197 billion drams.
The National Assembly committees will be discussing the draft budget until November 9, and after that the parliament members may submit written proposals to the National Assembly’s administration for sending them to the government. ($1 – AMD 475.56). ---0----
