Food products in Armenia in June increased in price by 6.2% over a year, and decreased by 3.5% over a month

Prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages in June 2025 compared to June 2024 increased by 6.2%, and decreased by 3.5% over a month. This is evidenced by the data of the report of the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. Prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages in June 2025 compared to June 2024 increased by 6.2%, and decreased by 3.5% from the previous month of this year, according to  the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

Pasta in June increased in price by 5.3% (an increase of 1.3% over the month), bread by 3.9% (an increase of 0.2%), flour by 7.1% (an increase of 0.8%), and rice by 0.9% (a decline of 0.7%).

In June, meat increased in price by 1.6% over the year, and by 0.4% over the previous month. At the same time, beef in June increased in price by 1.2% year-on-year (an increase of 0.2% over the month), lamb by 3.9% (an increase of 2.2%), pork by 4.5% (an increase of 3.3%), and poultry meat fell in price by 0.6% (a decline of 0.5%).

Fish and seafood prices in June 2025 increased by 20% compared to June 2024, and decreased by 0.2% compared to May of the same year. There were no changes compared to May of the same year. At the same time, trout increased in price by 21.8% during the reporting period, and decreased in price by 0.2% over the month.

Prices in the Dairy Products, Cheese and Eggs group in June decreased by 2.1% over the year, and by 0.1% over the month. At the same time, ice cream in June increased in price by 5.2% over the year (an increase of 1.1% over the month), fresh milk - by 0.8% (a decrease of 0.4%), cheese fell in price by 1.6% (an increase of 0.2%), and eggs decreased in price by 6.2% (a decrease of 1%). In June, goods in the Oils and Fats group increased in price by 14.2% year-on-year and by 0.9% month-on-month. At the same time, butter increased in price by 14% (an increase of 0.7% month-on-month), margarine by 1.1% (an increase of 0.6%), and sunflower vegetable oil by 17.5% (an increase of 1.4%).

Fruits increased in price by 3.7% year-on-year in June and fell by 1.2% month-on-month.

In the Vegetables group, prices in June increased by 25% year-on-year and fell by 23.6% month-on-month.

“In June 2025, compared to May of the same year, the average weighted deflation in the Vegetables and Fruits groups was 15.14%. These groups, whose share in the consumer basket is 8.28%, contributed to a decrease in the overall level of consumer prices by 1.25 percentage points during the specified period,” the report says.

In the group “Sugar, fruit puree, honey, syrups, chocolate and sugar confectionery” in June, over the year, prices grew by 6.5%, and over the month – by 1.4%. At the same time, sugar and granulated sugar in June compared to June fell in price by 2.8% (an increase over the month by 0.8%), chocolate rose in price by 14.8% (an increase by 2.6%), and confectionery fell in price by 0.8% (a decline of 0.7%).

In the group “Coffee, tea, cocoa” in June of this year compared to June last year, prices grew by 13.1%, and compared to May of this year – by 0.5%. In June, coffee prices increased by 14.3% year-on-year (up 0.6% month-on-month), cocoa by 20.4% (up 0.4%).

Prices for mineral or spring water, as well as bottled drinking water in June increased by 3% year-on-year, and by 0.3% month-on-month.

Alcoholic beverages increased by 4.5% in June compared to June 2024, and by 0.3% compared to May. At the same time, vodka increased by 5.4% in June compared to June 2024 (up 0.2% month-on-month), wine by 2.1% (up 0.6%), beer by 1.4% (up 0.5%).

Tobacco products increased in price by 7.4% year-on-year in June (up 0.7% month-on-month). Food products not included in other groups increased in price by 0.4% in June 2025 compared to June 2024, and by the same amount compared to May. At the same time, according to statistics, prices on the non-food market decreased by 0.2% in June of this year compared to June last year, and by 0.5% compared to May of this year.

In Armenia, inflation of 3.9% was registered in June 2025 compared to June 2024, and deflation of 1.3% for the month.-0-
