The former head of Armenia's Food Safety Inspectorate, Armen Danielyan, has been arrested, Marina Ohanjanyan, spokesperson of the Armenian Anti-Corruption Committee, told ARKA.
Former head of the Armenian Food Safety Inspectorate arrested on suspicion of embezzlement

YEREVAN, May 5 /ARKA/. The former head of Armenia's Food Safety Inspectorate, Armen Danielyan, has been arrested, Marina Ohanjanyan, spokesperson of the Armenian Anti-Corruption Committee, told ARKA.

According to her, Danielyan is accused of embezzlement of property on a particularly large scale using official authority. "A motion for Danielyan's arrest has been filed with the court," Ohanjanyan said.

Armen Danielyan submitted his resignation on April 30, 2025, and the decree on his dismissal from office was signed by the Armenian Prime Minister on May 1.

A suspect or defendant of an alleged criminal offence is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a final court judgement in the manner prescribed by the Armenian Code of Criminal Procedure.-0-
