YEREVAN, February 21. /ARKA/. In 2025, digital labeling will become mandatory for a range of products in Armenia, as reported by the State Revenue Committee of the country.

It is noted that exporters and importers will label their goods with identification means, such as a two-dimensional Data Matrix barcode. This barcode is applied or printed on the product and is unique to each unit of goods, after which it is registered in the E-mark system.
The digital labeling of the following products will be mandatory:

  • From March 1, 2025: Carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, soft drinks, pasta, tea, coffee, animal and vegetable oils, products containing chocolate and cocoa, canned goods, beer, and beer-based drinks.
  • From June 1, 2025: Dairy products, meat products, sausages, and animal feed.
  • From September 1, 2025: Petroleum products, paints, varnishes, and desiccants.
  • From June 1, 2025: Medicines, vitamins, perfumes, cosmetics, and hygiene and care products.

The State Revenue Committee added that businesses can transition to the new labeling system before the mandatory deadline, if desired.
To implement digital labeling, the manufacturing or importing enterprise must register in the national operator's electronic label system to gain access.
