In March 2022 year-on-year food prices up 12.8 percent

Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose by 12.8% in March 2022 in Armenia compared to March 2021, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose by 12.8% in March 2022 in Armenia compared to March 2021, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).

Bread and cereals prices rose by 13.3%. The prices for rice, lentils and buckwheat rose by 16.8%, 28% and 37.2%, respectively.

Meat prices rose by 9.7%, while poultry, lamb and beef rose by 7.4%, 7.5%, and 9.1%, respectively. Fish and seafood prices were up 30.2%.

Prices of dairy products, cheese and eggs rose by 7.5% on average. Fresh milk and butter prices rose by 9.5% and 10.7% respectively. Cooking oils prices rose by 7.8%, while fruits prices fell by 3.8% and vegetables prices upped 40.8%.

Prices of sugar, fruit puree, honey, syrups, chocolate and sugar confectionery rose by 13% on average. Coffee, tea and cocoa rose in price by 11.2%.

Prices of mineral, spring and bottled drinking water rose by 6.6%. Vodka rose 8.7%, wine by 1.1% , beer by 6% and tobacco products rose 8.8%.

According to the statistical data, prices for non-food goods rose 4.8% compared to March last year. Overall, consumer prices in Armenia rose 7.4% in March 2022 compared to March 2021 -0-
