YEREVAN, October 7. /ARKA/.  A major Russian motor car corporation, KAMAZ open joint stock company, opened Friday a trade and service center, “KANAZ ARMENIA”, in Yerevan.

The center will be selling KAMAZ cars and original spare parts, as well as will be offering repair, technical and guarantee services and training of technical specialists for operating companies.

KAMAZ ARMENIA closed joint stock company was founded based on Armenian-Russian military and technical agreements, general director of KAMAZ ARMENIA Sergey Galstyan said.

The company pursues two main aims: the first, to service military equipment and two-fold purpose KAMAZ-based equipments of Armenian ministry of defense, and the second, providing services to private sector, Galstyan said.

According to Galstyan, average retail price for KAMAZ car for private sector will be from 16-17 million drams (about $35-41,000) to 35-40 million drams ($86-99,000).

The KAMAZ ARMENIA trade center opening ceremony was attended by Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan, minister of defense Seyran Ohanyan, secretary of National Security Council Artur Baghdasaryan, secretary general of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolay Bordiuja, Russian Federation’s trade representative Andrey Babko, Russian ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin and general director of KAMAZ ojsc Sergey Kogogin.
Kogogin said KAMAZ is well represented in Armenia. 

Modern equipment needs a professional approach to servicing, Kogogin said adding that the new center is built within the time planned and is properly equipped to ensure high-standard servicing and repair.

Kogogin said this is a successful start and later the company will be opening service centres in other towns.

KAMAZ-ARMENIA cjsc is a Russian-Armenian joint venture and official representative of KAMAZ ojsc in Armenia. The authorised stock of the company is $2 million, which is expected to grow later. The current staff is 15 employees, but is expected to increase up to 30 by November. Average salary paid by the company is 270,000 drams. -0-
