YEREVAN, December 13. /ARKA/. Armenia is ready to do its best to enlarge economic cooperation with France, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan told the French Ambassador to Armenia Anne Louyot December 10.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, during the meeting the parties discussed and outlined priority directions of economic cooperation between the two countries in 2022.

"The humanitarian and political relations between our countries are at a high level, which can create favorable conditions for deepening the economic interaction as well ," Kerobyan pointed out.

He briefed the Ambassador on the Armenian government's new economic program, saying the government plans to reform the irrigation system, improve the management of water resources and agricultural land.

In her turn, Ambassador Louyot highly appreciated the signing of a road map for boosting Armenian-French economic cooperation in 2021-2026 during the first joint session of the bilateral working group held in Paris on December 9. She noted that the two countries had a lot of work to do.

Raphaël Jozan, the head of the Regional Representative Office for South-Caucasus of the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement), who was present at the meeting, noted that the Vedi water reservoir, which is under construction with the participation of the French Development Agency, is an exemplary project and emphasized that such projects create new jobs and support the development of rural communities in Armenia.

According to Jozan, the agency is also interested in investing in the reconstruction of rural roads and communications.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador informed Kerobyan that an economic forum will be held in France in early 2022 and invited the Armenian partners to participate in it. Kerobyan accepted the invitation and said he would personally participate in the forum. -0-
