More than 2.6 thousand people died in Armenia in January, an increase of 8.1%

YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. In January 2025, 2,627 people died in Armenia, which is an 8.1% increase compared to January 2024, according to data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.
The leading cause of death was diseases of the circulatory system, accounting for 52.8% (1,388 people), which is a 0.9% decrease compared to the first month of 2024.
The second leading cause of death was neoplasms, which accounted for 17.1% (449 people), showing an increase of 5.4%.
Other causes of death included respiratory diseases (11.9% or 312 people, an increase of 26.3%), diseases of the digestive system (5.2% or 137 people, an increase of 25.7%), external causes of morbidity and mortality (2.6% or 68 people, a decrease of 21.4%), diseases of the endocrine system (2.4% or 64 people, an increase of 30.6%), and infectious diseases (1% or 25 people, an increase of 31.6%).
