More than 100,000 tons of fruits were gathered in Armenia in the first half of this year, Samvel Galstyan, deputy agriculture minister, told journalists on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, July 15. /ARKA/. More than 100,000 tons of fruits were gathered in Armenia in the first half of this year, Samvel Galstyan, deputy agriculture minister, told journalists on Wednesday.
Some 86,000 tons of apricots were gathered. Apricot crops were especially rich in Armavir, Aragatsotn and Ararat provinces.
The deputy minister said the country exported 17,500 tons of apricots and 1,159 tons of cherries.
He added that areas of land under crop were increased by 17,000 hectares in 2015, compared with 2014, to 349,500 hectares. ---0-----
