New apartment blocks were commissioned on Saturday for residents of houses near Zvartnots airport in Yerevan. The commissioning ceremony was attended by Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan.

YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. New apartment blocks were commissioned on Saturday for residents of houses near Zvartnots airport in Yerevan. The commissioning ceremony was attended by Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan.
Two multi-apartment blocks and a hostel located near the airport hinder the air navigation, the concessionaire said. It was planned to pull down the buildings after new dwelling was provided to the residents.
Earlier, the press secretary of Armenia’s chief aviation department Nelly Cherchinyan said the project cost is $15 million and it covers 164 families.
Under the program an apartment complex is built at South-Western residential area. The apartments have kitchen furniture and plumbic fixtures.
Zvartnots airport is run by Armenia-International Airports, a company owned by an Argentine citizen of Armenian descent Eduardo Eurnekian. In 2001 the company signed a concession agreement with the government to manage Zvartnots for 30 years. -0-
