YEREVAN, April 1. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government budget indicators show that things have got worse in the country’s economy, Zhoghovurd reports.
According to the newspaper, tax and duty receipts in the budget revenue shrank by AMD 3 billion in January and February 2016, compared with the same period a year before.
“Budget revenue has dwindled because of deterioration of things in the country’s economy, and it is obvious that the current authorities are not able to solve this problem, but they can remedy the situation by cutting budget spending,” the authors of the publication say. “If they curb their appetite a little, it will save a considerable part of the budget funds. But official statistical reports show exactly the opposite.”
It has become clear, they say, that despite contraction of budget inflows, expenses keep growing.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reported yesterday that taxes and duties in the Jan-Feb 2016 revenue totaled AMD 149.6 billion showing a 2% year-on-year decline.
Armenia’s government budget revenue shrank 2.1% in January and February 2016, compared with the same period a year earlier, to AMD 155.5 billion. ($1 – AMD 480.79). --0----
