Non-food prices in December grow by 0.2 percent from November

In December 2014 non-food prices in Armenia rose by 0.2 percent from November, according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, December 30. / ARKA /. In December 2014 non-food prices in Armenia rose by 0.2 percent from November, according to the latest numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
The rise was prompted by increasing prices of textile goods by 0.6%, detergents – by 0.6%, consumer electronics – by 0.7%, drugs – by 0.8%, fuel – by 1%, carpets – by 1.1%, kitchen utensils – by 1.2%, building materials – by 1.5%, furniture – by 2%, gold products – by 4.6% and recreational goods – by 6.3%.
Simultaneously prices of footwear fell by 2.5%, clothing and embroidery – by 1.8%, horticultural products – by 1.7%, office products – by 0.7%, cosmetic products – by 0.6% goods for personal use – declined by 0.6%. Prices for foodstuffs in December 2014 increased by 3% from the previous month.
Services increased by 0.7% from 2014 November, according to the National Statistical Service. The rise
was prompted by an increase in prices of legal and banking services by 0.7%, catering – by 1.3%, transport – by 4.2% and recreation – by 6.4%.
Prices of utilities grew by 0.2%, while prices for education services fell by 0.4%, culture – by 0.1%, and prices of communication services did not change. In annual terms prices of services grew by 5.1%. -0-
