YEREVAN, September 28. /ARKA/. More than 300 product groups from Armenia will be eligible for export to the European Union market without import duties for a period of two years, the EU Delegation to Armenia reports.
"From the apricot orchards of Ararat and Armavir to the flower farms of the Ararat Valley and the textile factories of Gyumri, it will soon be easier for producers across various Armenian sectors to compete in the European market," the statement reads.
The EU Delegation noted that the relevant measures are expected to be signed and published in the coming weeks.
According to the statement, this move will open new markets for Armenian exporters and help boost the prosperity of communities and households linked to the relevant industries.
On EU trade preferences for Armenian goods
On September 24, 2026, the Council of the EU gave final approval to temporary trade preferences for Armenia.
More than 300 product groups—accounting for approximately 80% of Armenian exports to the EU—will be exempt from import duties for two years. The list includes, among other items, canned goods and juices, dried fruits and nuts, herbs and spices, textiles, footwear, and other industrial products.
Ad valorem duties will be eliminated for eight types of agricultural products within the limits of tariff quotas.
