Russia Increases Capacity of Upper Lars Checkpoint, No Need for Ferry — Papoyan

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Russia has increased the capacity of the Upper Lars checkpoint on its border with Georgia, so there is no need for Armenian forwarding companies to look for ferry services, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan told reporters on Thursday.

"Our economic entities continue to use this road. In my opinion, the queues at the checkpoint will be reduced in the near future and the problems will be solved," Papoyan said.

Upper Lars is the only land road connecting Armenia with Russia and beyond.-0-
