YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. The damaged section of gas trunkline in Daryal Gorge in Georgia supplying Russian gas to Armenia was repaired on Saturday, Georgian minister of regional development and infrastructures David Shavliashvili told journalists at the repair site, Prime reported.
The gorge section of the trunk was damaged due to a landslide on August 20. The incident has no drastic effect on Armenia’s gas supply as the country has a special storage with sufficient capacity for several weeks. The damaged section has not affected gas supply to Georgia either as the country has been receiving most of its gas from Azerbaijan in the recent years.
Gazprom Armenia, fully owned by Russian Gazprom hold the monopoly for distribution of Russian gas in Armenia. –0--
