Russian provider of air traffic services suspends air navigation services for Air Armenia airline

A Russian state-owned provider of air traffic services said today it is going to suspend air navigation services for Air Armenia airline from September 21 in the Russian airspace because of the Armenian company’s outstanding and current debts of $1.1 million.

YEREVAN, September 11. / ARKA /.  A Russian state-owned provider of air traffic services said today it is going to suspend air navigation services for Air Armenia airline from September 21 in the Russian airspace because of the Armenian company’s outstanding and current debts of $1.1 million.

According to the state-owned corporation, Air Armenia was given a postponement for payments for air navigation services. 

"Despite the fact that the Air Armenia was given every opportunity to pay off the existing debts, the company’s management has not taken effective measures to reduce the debt burden," said the Russian provider. 

The Russian company said it will resume air navigation services for the Armenian carrier immediately after the full repayment of outstanding debts and guarantees to pay the current debt. 

Air Armenia operates two daily flights to Moscow, as well as flights to  St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod. 

The company was founded in 2003. In 2013 it began passenger transportation. -0-
