Snowfalls do not disrupt South Caucasus Railway’s operation

The Russian-owned South Caucasus Railway, operating Armenia’s railroads, said heavy snowfalls have not disrupted its normal work. It said efforts are now underway to keep the road clean and eliminate the consequences of snow drifts.

YEREVAN, December 16. / ARKA /. The Russian-owned South Caucasus Railway, operating Armenia’s railroads, said heavy snowfalls have not disrupted its normal work. It said efforts are now underway to keep the road clean and eliminate the consequences of snow drifts.
Its said snowplows worked intensively last week to clean the sections of the railroads from Nurnus to Tsovagyukh, from Vardenis to Zod, from Ani to Gyumri and from Gyumri to Ghaltakhchi.
It said also trains from Yerevan to Tbilisi in neighboring Georgia operate in accordance with the schedule.
South Caucasus Railways is a 100% subsidiary of state-run Russian Railways. The 30 year contract was signed in 2008. It can be prolonged for another 10 years. -0-
