Some 73.5 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables exported from Armenia to Russia over 8 months - Papoyan
YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. From January to August, Armenia exported 73.5 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables to Russia, of which 998 tons, or 1.36%, were returned, according to Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan.
The previous day, Papoyan addressed the remarks made by opposition Armenian MP Garnik Danielyan who claimed that hundreds of trucks carrying agricultural products to Russia were not allowed to cross the Upper Lars checkpoint to enter Russia from Georgia.
According to the minister, in August, 762 trucks loaded with fruits and vegetables from Armenia entered the Russian Federation, with only 4 trucks not allowed to enter Russia.
"A very significant detail: 684 tons of the cargo were returned in June and July, while 314 tons in August, indicating that there has been no unusual increase in returns in August, and the proportions from previous months have remained consistent," Papoyan stated on his Facebook page.
The minister further mentioned that the majority of the returned cargo faced issues related to documentation.-0-
